An Action Packed Programme

Experience the best of the Jurassic Coast from the tranquil waters of Poole Harbour to the dramatic limestone sea cliffs. Rock climb up the natural crags, walk along the chalk ridges, explore the largest natural harbour in the UK by canoe, travel to activities by mountain bike and enjoy our high ropes course and other great activities. Relax in the evening around the campfire at our centre based near the historic village of Corfe.

Your Week

Staying at our 500 year old farm, you and a like minded group will live and cook together as well as participate in a full programme of activities. Our staff will help you bond as a group and support you so that you can make the most of your week with us. You will cook and do activities in a group of 8 who you will be with for the week. There will be a maximum number of 32 Gold DofE ers on site offering more opportunities for socialising in the evenings. 

Our Team

The DofE Gold Residential programme is run by the team at Brenscombe Outdoor Centre. Brenscombe has been delivering quality outdoor programmes since 1992 and has a highly qualified and experienced staff team.
Our instructors balance safety with fun to ensure that you have the best experience we can achieve.

Our instructors will support your group and will be with you all week to ensure that the activities are paced and pitched appropriately for each person.  You will quickly get to know everyone and the range of activities will give everyone the chance to shine. 

Your Week

Your DofE Gold Residential Week provides a fun shared residential experience whilst enjoying the best range of outdoor activities on the Dorset Coast.

Transport

We use Mountain Bikes to access some of the activities allowing you to really appreciate the stunning local landscape. This means even the travel is part of the programme, enabling full and fun days outdoors. You dont need to be an experienced biker or bike fit, we will pace and tailor the cycling to make it suitable for all including stops for ice cream!

The Activities

We fill the week with a wide range of activities so you are able to maximise your time with us. Expect full days outdoors with some time to chill around the campfire at the end of the day.

  • Our amazing High Ropes Course
  • Team Challenges
  • Bushcraft with an optional sleep out
  • Raft Building
  • Mountain Biking

 The activities are not compulsory, however we can tailor most activities so that everyone finds an appropriate amount of "stretch".

One of your challenges is to live communally with the other participants. You will be sharing a room , planning and cooking your meals together as well as enjoying the activities.

On your final night there will be an opportunity to cook a meal over a campfire and 'bivy' out under tarps in the woods.

2024 Total programme price of £390 includes £35 to the communal food kitty for your food purchases for the week,  activities, instruction, safety equipment and shared accommodation at Brenscombe Outdoor Centre.
